About Me

Hello! I'm very sorry, but since I'm living in a flatshare with no living room, I cannot currently host travellers.

I’m a young, happy and slightly disoriented human being who enjoys travelling and discovering. Lowkey looking for people who also like eating bread ends. I may come off shy, but patience, grasshopper, I will slowly open up to you.

Places I wish to travel to someday:

*New Zealand
*Morocco
*Iceland
*Japan
*Canada, again

My favourite travel destination is usually the last place I visited.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting and conversing with the residents awho resonate with the vibe of the town can give a totally different insight to the local culture that would not have been discovered otherwise. I also believe that the point of life is to broaden horizons, experience as much as possible and people are significant contributors to that. The few experiences I've had so far on CS have been so very inspiring since I met people who are passionate and caring and warm.

Interests

I was in art school for eleven years and although I do not paint much anymore, I still enjoy visiting art museums, talking about art and occasionally doodling when I'm actually not supposed to (my go-to utensils are graphite pencils and soft pastels).

Hiking is also something that I enjoy a lot and something I should be doing a lot more. Right now I do not have proper hiking equipment in UK, so my hikes are limited down to daywalks, but sooner or later I will make the necessary investment.

I also love hanging out with my friends, having a chill night in with a beer, drinking some wine in a park or going out and seeing where the night takes us.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I cannot name a genre that would conclude my whole music taste. From indie to electronic music to rock to classical music to wide variety of bands. Some examples: The Black Keys, Django Django, Flume, Dark Dark Dark, Erkki Pärnoja, White Stripes, Pадост моя, Tруд, Kungs, XXYYXX, Debussy, Ewert and The Two Dragons, Tash Sultana, Mura Masa

Artists I've seen live: Django Django, Flume, Cashmere Cat, Odesza, Bonobo, Young Fathers, Alle Farben, Ewert and The Two Dragons, Vaiko Eplik, Marten Kuningas, Asbjørn, Elephants from Neptune, Bad Karma Boy, Frankie Animal, Gromyka, Holy Motors, Junk Riot, NOEP, Liima, Moa Pillar, Ouu, Pixelord, Reket, St Cheatersburg, Trad Attack!, Zebra Island, Boondocks, Galvanic Elephants, Joycut, Macajay, Repetitor, Super Besse, Micronaut

Movies - "Birdman", "Under the Sun", "Lion", "Automatic hate" and "The Lobster" are definitely worth watching.

Books - Lev Tolstoy "War and Peace", Milan Kundera "The Unbearable Lightness of Being", Peter Pomerantsev "Nothing is True and Everything is Possible: the Surreal Heart of the New Russia", Khaled Hosseini "The Kite Runner", Haruki Murakami "1Q84" and "Norwegian wood"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

*Visited Melt! music festival in Germany in 2015 with my friend. It was an amazing experience and I still sometimes doubt a little bit if it actually happened - it was so incredible!

*I've been on two solo hikes and both of them were so short they're barely worth naming "a hike", but I walked for two days in two national parks in Estonia and it was amazing, hoping to go thru hiking some day.

*Interrailing for two weeks which was also the first time I travelled alone.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you my crazy native languages, Estonian and Russian. I also know how to make banana pancakes with two ingredients, but otherwise I should be having cooking lessons, not giving any (please teach me (((I'm desperate)))). I always like to learn new languages, hear random facts and your ideas on different topics from literature to politics to other controversial and intriguing life questions.

If you write poetry I am always up for hearing that. If you paint, I'd love to see it. If you write songs, I'd love to hear it.

I grew up in a country where most people are either atheists or just non-believing (according to some statistics Estonia is one of the most atheist countries in the world) and because of that I'm always excited to hear about other people's religions and beliefs.. I am aware this is a very-very personal topic, but if you are willing to share, I am always willing to listen.

What I Can Share with Hosts

In addition to sharing travel stories or discussing the meaning of life, I tend to bring my guests some Estonian tea :).
