About Me

I'd like to think of myself as an open-minded, friendly person trying to learn as much as possible about the world and its people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My first couchsurfing experience was wonderful. I stayed with a super friendly girl from Malaysia and she showed me all her favorite food spots. As someone who adores trying new food this was the best thing ever and I ended up having 5 meals a day.

Every experience is different but that’s what I love: leaning about a place, and perhaps a different way of life through the eyes of someone else!

Music, Movies, and Books

Love Indie/Folk music but also some thought-provoking hip hop! Despite living in Berlin I hate techno music. I love dancing to Afro, Dancehall, Reggaeton and some good old pop music.

I’m also open to all sorts of movies except for horror movies, life is scary enough imo.

I don't really have a favorite book so I will just share with you what I've been reading lately:
- The Handmaid's Tale
- The people you meet in heaven
- Brave new world
- The Power
- Midnight Library
But I’m always open for suggestions - there are so many good books out there!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Each spring the Khmer New Year is celebrated in Cambodia. A few years ago I had the honour to join the festivities with the very friendly and lovely family I was staying with. Together we went to the celebration at the community center, laughed and danced the whole day. In the evening they invited me to join their family tradition - washing the older family members as a sign of respect and gratitude, as they once have been washing and taking care of the younger ones. I didn't really know that family yet they have opend their door and their hearts to me and treated me like I was one of them. Experiencing this openness and kindness I promised myself to welcome visitors the same way because it really meant a lot to me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to share my experiences with my hosts, telling them about the countries I've lived in or visited.
But I also love and live to learn and if you'd be willing to share your stories I'd be a very interested listener.

I love singing so you’ll have a duet partner if you’ve ever wanted to sign High School Musical Songs the proper way ;)

Also, I’m quite a good baker so I‘m happy to leave a sweet delight if you have some equipment :)

If you have pets, especially dogs, I will love them with all my heart.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, England, France, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Viet Nam
