ABOUT ME
My Friends call me Mara. An optimistic, open-minded and may be a little bit chaotic, but not a namby-pamby young lady. What could turn my ordinary evening into a real event, is a good company and something delicious. Both definitely served with a sense of humour. And yeah, I have an appetite for life!
Sometimes I tend to seem serious and consequent, while talking, but people often distract because of my childish face.
I am talkative but I hate mobile phones. I like old-style-storytelling, funny and unusual stories and complicated topics. Not to worry, I am not a serial killer.. I am not that much organized :D
I hate get up early, but I don't mind staying awake till the morning (for both party and work).
I used to write a lot and still admire the work of the movie directors, but I thought, I am not talented enough for it (and I still do).. so before torturing the general public with my work, I decided to get some life experience, to try new hobbies, to meet new people, to watch good movies, to travel and steal moments and inspiration.. soo here am I by Couch Surfing!
The last three years I spent in Berlin where I studied anthropogy and wondered where the f*ing sun is?! Yep, in my opinion Berlin is ugly and cold but I always manage to warm myself up with a cup good tea or a spontaneous trip!
PHILOSOPHY
combination of challenges and relaxation

Music, Movies, and Books
Music > Mumford & Sons, Jose Gonzales, Angus & Julia Stone, Paolo Nutini, Jack Johnson, City and Colour, Billy Talent, The Cure, Damian Rise, The Cranberries, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Queen, The Beatles, Blondie, Maroon 5, Lana Del Ray, Nneka, Moby, Andy McKee + classical music at 2 a.m.
Movies > Tim Burton, Steven Spielberg and Pedro Almodovar have my respect.. comedy, thriller, drama, but I have always had sympathies with low-budget films or amateur projects (in contrast to the commercial Hollywood productions) and the unpopular movies, shown on international film festivals.
I adore all kind of ethnographic and documentary films!!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last summer I went to India and Nepal with a good friend of mine and it was our big adventure! We got lost in the Himalayas, met great people, traveled on the roof of a bus, ate things, about whose origin I don't want to know in details (in fact they weren't bad at all).. and meanwhile my friend, Ginka, suffered from the side effect of the malaria prophylaxis and every minute was in a differend mood (from “Look how green everything is, Maria, I want to stay here forever..” to “I want to go home NOW!” :D). So thank you, Ginche, for making it so special!
