Hey! My name is Maria and I am from Ukraine. After finishing university I decided to try something new and now I am a volunteer in the youth center in a small Estonian town. Now I spend time trying to understand the teenagers and myself a bit more. I love art, even if sometimes it is not quite understandable right away, especially theatre and cinema. I guess I am a cinephile. I make a lot of jokes (some of them are bad), so please be prepared. Sometimes I may spend the whole day watching videos on Youtube (we all do that, confess) or reading a book. I love exploring new places, even if it is my home town. I love drinking coffee in cozy places (for example, my kitchen), cider and wine (not at the same time), sad books, creating stories in my head, candles, spending hours in the bookshops, wandering in the city center for no reason, pizza, visiting museums and art galleries, sea, second-hand shops, and film photos.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people, even if they are completely different from me and have a different worldview. I spent some time in the international organization when I had to take interviews with people all around the world every day. And it was amazing. I love diversity and Iove that people are so different and so interesting. For me, it's even more interesting to confront someone who doesn't agree with me to have a proper dialogue. I want to see the cities from inside, not as a tourist that is on the bus tour. And, let's be honest, many people still have a lot of stereotypes about Ukraine. I might break them for you. Or prove them.

I would be happy to share my favorites and find out new artists and genres. Currently, my favorites are alt-J, Bon Iver, Foals, Gem Club, Rhye, Son Lux, Tame Impala, and many more. I also like French artists such as La Femme and Paradis.
There are too many books that I love.

I am quite young and do not have a lot of experience, still I have stories to share. All of us live in differente places so I think anyway there will be a lot of new discoveries.
