About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live and be merry.
ABOUT ME
A newcomer to couchsurfing, I am an art student and acoustic musician with a passion for discovering the fine and hidden gems of life. I am studying in Florence and want to discover Italy and the rest of Europe by tossing out the tourist guidebook in favor of a friendly individual with the desire to share their city with me.
I love to discover new and strange things, and thrive off of quirky culinary experiences. I am a native Oregonian who misses the beauty of nature in the urban (but lovely) city of Florence. A hike along the ocean or up a mountain would make my day.
PHILOSOPHY
I feel as if everything should be experienced at least once, and so with an open mind I approach my travels. I believe that any experience, good or bad, will cultivate me as a person, and that is never a bad thing.
I feel that food and music are going to keep us together.
I feel that one should do what makes one feel good, just don't hurt anybody.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For the semester I offer eager company and an open mind to whatever the world wants to show me. When I return from my travels I offer up my humble abode and beautiful city of Portland, Oregon to anyone who wishes to visit!

Interests
I am currently in a relationship with music. We do very well together. As I pursue my degree in studio art at Reed College I hope to take advantage of Portland, Oregon's indie music scene and make my own dent in the city.

Music, Movies, and Books
For films, the quirky or beautiful: American Beauty, Into the Wild, The Royal Tenenbaums, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the list goes on.
My books were my friends growing up and they are still very dear to me: Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials, and Tolkien's works will never be far from me.
And as for music, I am a folk/indie kind of girl. Regina Spektor taught me to sing and Conor Oberst taught me to write, but where would I be without the others--Elliott Smith, Radiohead, Tallest Man on Earth, Jenny Lewis, Feist, Explosions in the Sky, Sigur Ros, Deertick, Jonathan Wilson, Jack White, the list will continue endlessly.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After camping under the astounding stars in the Easter Oregon desert, I hiked to the top of the little-traveled hidden gem of Steen's Mountain in Eastern Oregon and felt dizzy from the view at the top. Oregon's best kept secret.
Teach, Learn, Share
Share music with me. Sing with me. Jam with me. Cook with me. Food and Music--that's what I most want to give and take in this experience.
