About Me

****I’m on a spontaneous trip to Spain. ****

I have so much love for this planet.
Early to bed (usually) early to rise (always).
The ocean is my favourite place to swim, even though it scares me.
I love getting mail.
Biking, hiking and skiing are my favourite weekend activities.
I've been a vegetarian for many years now, and really enjoy cooking.
I’d love help completing the NYT crossword.

PHILOSOPHY

"When they conk you on the head with their billysticks, zap them right back with superlove."
- The Drifters

"We the youthful sinewy races, all the rest on us depend"
- Walt Whitman

Trust in the process of life.
- my mum

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's the best way to immerse yourself in a place when travelling.
And hosting allows me to pay forward all the kindness I have received.

Interests

The ocean, fresh snow, reading by the fire, islands, picnics, yellow objects, spicy food, new places, old places, wild places, storms, tea, hand-me downs, wool socks, craft beer, good whisk(e)y, plaid shirts, floral dresses, coffee shops, stickers, making playlists, libraries, spontaneity, yoga, pretty pictures, tales of adventure, and the unknown.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like books - Harry Potter nerd and usually actively reading at least two others.
I love music- Depends on the day. But Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Tame Impala greatly influence my Spotify algorithm.
I want to like movies - but I often get restless.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing things can happen everyday. Especially in when your ears, eyes and mind are all open.
More specifically:
I thought Cirque Du Soliel was incredible.
As was the spontaneous hiking trip with new friends and a garden gnome.
St. Patty's day in Ireland, Queens day in Amsterdam, Canada day in Ottawa.
I've enjoyed mysterious train rides and loooong drives even when they get old (Highway 17, The Bruce: you're beasts).
I'll never forget the weathered storms in tents and broken down caravans.
Ambitious winter road trippin' with my favourite sisters.
Lava meeting the open Pacific.
Sunset from the world's tallest mountain.
Swimming past the drop off.
Vacant hotsprings.
Driving 3000km with a top speed of 55km/h (unless we're going downhill...)
Sailing the Whitsundays
And every folk music festival I've ever been to.
