About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy New Zealand's countryside and its lifestyle. Searching and reading as much as we can about sustainable ways of living. Next project: Our own veggie garden!!!

ABOUT ME

We are a Chilean marriage living and working in Kurow, 60 k west from Oamaru. Maria (29) is Hospitality Manager and Carlos (36) is Chef... though, we are now working in a dairy farm in Waitaki Valley, 60 k west from Oamaru, on the way to Queenstown, Wanaka, Oamarama, etc.
More than places (we love to travel!!!) we look forward to meet PEOPLE that can help Us to understand their culture, and to whom we can show some of our own.
Of course, we are not the typical kiwi couple...as we are chileans...hahaha, but being in New Zealand, well, that's interesting...A chilean couple???!!!!! What???!!!! Awesome, and you won't even have to go to Chile!!!! So you'll get to know kiwi and chilean people for the same price!!!!

PHILOSOPHY

Respect. Respect others, your environment, and yourself. Once you have achieved this, just enjoy and have fun!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We had the placer to experience couchsurfing in India! It was the best! We met great people and we still keep in contact with them.
After that, we also want, as we are able now, to host people from other places.

Interests

We love the outdoors life style. Trekking around the places we lived in have been always a "must go for it" to Us. It doesn't mean that we are experts on it, but we will be some day, hehehe...we hope...
We are deeply interested in practice a sustainable way of living, reducing as much as we are able the generation of rubbish, reusing all we can, and recycling what is possible to be recycled in every city where we have lived in. Anyway, we are still learning...as we keep getting a lot of packaging at end of the week... :(
