About Me
Hi Guys!
We are Maria and Mateus :)
A Brazilian couple taking a gap year. We look for incredible experiences within the local culture and make friends around the world. We are open-minded, easy going and fun people.
"Every being is a teacher" and we want to learn: D
We really like to explore different countries, cultures, and languages, and we believe CS brings us closer to real people. We want to expand on ourselves and resignify the way we see life.
We like to cook and try new dishes. We love animals and we value the contact with nature.
We aren't tourists .. we are travelers <3
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It looks like the best way to find new friends all over the world with total respect for each other... It's also a lot more pleasing meet interesting people who can tell impressive stories about themselves or about a city in which they live than just sleeping in the hotels.

Music, Movies, and Books
All kinda music, but we prefer rock, pop, reggae, and blues. We liked a lot of movies and books, let's talk about then!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We swam with pink dolphins in an Amazon river and dived in the "encontro das águas" in the most extensive river in the world - both experiences in the amazon jungle
We skied in the Andes, in Chile..and was there we felt in love while traveling as friends
Teach, Learn, Share
We can teach some Brazilian language or recipes.
Maria grew up in Manaus, north of Brazil, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. Mateus grew up in southern Brazil. We know Brazil from north to south.
