ABOUT ME
This is Mary! Italian, 29 years old. I'm in love with travels, pictures, good books, good movies & good food.
I still haven't found what I'm looking for. But this is the best part.
PHILOSOPHY
"Chacun est responsable de tout devant tous". F. Dostoïevski
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is a window on humanity: you suddenly jump in the life of the others. Perfect strangers, for a couple of days, can become you best friends: you discover their amazing stories and experiences and how different and similar we are at the same time.
Interests
I think that TRAVELING should be on the top of the list. I want to do it as much as possible and get to know all little undiscovered corners of this world.
PHOTOGRAPHY: I couldn't live without my Nikon. Especially in the last year I spent a lot of time around the streets of Krakow taking many interesting shots. And I have to say, traveling and photography for me are strictly related!
BOOKS and LITERATURE: I always need to have a (good) book (sometimes two) in my bag or on my bedside table. I'm books-addicted. Many books have been important for me. Lately I feel pretty proud because I could read "Voyage au bout de la nuit" in french! And that was a real challenge for me!
CINEMA: My secret love & my childhood dream: become a movie director! Right now... I think I still have this dream inside but I simply watch all the movies I can. I LOVE Truffaut and all the directors from the "Nouvelle vague".

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC: I don't have any favorite genre or band but if I have to choose I would say Beirut - Of Monsters and Men - Noir Desir - Sigur Ros - God is an Astronaut and, depending on the mood, Deftones & Buena Vista Social Club.
MOVIES: wow... hard choice but I would say "The 400 Blows" by François Truffaut - "Stand by Me" by Rob Reiner - "La dolce Vita" by Federico Fellini - "The Lives of Others" by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck and many others.
BOOKS: I have my TOP 5 since a few years: "The Brothers Karamazov" by Fyodor Dostoyevsky - "History: A Novel" (La Storia) by Elsa Morante - "Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands" by Jorge Amado - "Baudolino" by Umberto Eco - "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexandre Dumas père.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have so many cool stories about my trips that every time and I tell them to my friends they always suggest me to write a book and collect them all! I can't choose one! :D
But something that I really love is CROSSING THE BORDER ON FOOT. In the last months I did it twice: Poland - Czech Republic and Poland - Ukraine (here with stamps of the passport!).
