About Me

I'm a 40 year old new Australian who migrated from Barcelona to the UK in 1999. I fell in love with an Aussie and moved to Sydney with him, married him and had 2 children, Joe (now 14) and Sean (now 12).
I've recently changed jobs from nursing to cooking.
I've recently found love and I'm getting married in October 2015 to John, my housemate.
We share interest in trekking, permaculture, sustainable living, cooking (I am vegetarian though I cook meat). We love taking our van "out bush" and sleep in some natural park in the middle of nowhere, light a bonfire and drink rum, and look at the stars.
We spend time at Northey Street City Farm, where we initially met while organising the Winter Solstice Festival.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We have got tickets to visit Europe August- September 2015, and we would love to couchsurf there.
We plan to start with arriving to Paris on August 11th 2015, and make our way by train to Switzerland, Italy and then back up to Spain.
We will have the ability to receive guests when in Australia, hopefully from November 2015 onwards, at the moment we are living in a small place that might fit 1 person, but we do welcome the chance to take you around and show you Brisbane for a day trip or so if you come over.

Interests

Cooking (goes without saying) and cooking for big groups (up to 80 I can do single handed from home).
Eating!
Swimming in the ocean. Flying kites on the beach. Snorkelling, body surfing, surfing (I am trying). Trekking and camping in national parks, preferably near water.
Meeting other people who are keen on exploring new places, or show me new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I play the fiddle, mostly Celtic music though I am classically trained (Bach rocks!), I love playing with different musicians.
I like to listen to different music at different times of the day, and I love any kind of music as long as it is not too loud so one can keep a conversation.
My favourite movies have to be Blade Runner, and the original Star Wars movies (the ones where Han Solo shoots first and there are no extra laser shots in the frames).
A series of books I really got into was "The Hunger Games" saga. I did really got into Cattiness's head.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing the Aneto in the Pyrenees when I was younger. After that, having 2 natural births with my 2 boys. Recently, driving my van 600Km back and fro between Rockhampton and Brisbane every month for a year by myself. I enjoy a very strong sense of success in being independent.
