ABOUT ME

I'm a pretty easy-going, laid-back, roll-with-the-punches kinda gal. I think I got all my loud party vibes out at an early age, so I keep things pretty mellow now. I enjoy getting out into nature and curling up with a good book and some tea. Of course, when I'm travelling, I'm a bit more adventurous! I'm probably one of the easiest people to get along with. I'm non-judgemental, understanding, and helpful. If you are intelligent, funny, and can understand my sarcasm, you will most likely become my new best friend.

I believe in honesty, trust, and open-mindedness. Those three things will get you far in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was a surfer for 4 months, all across the United States, and have met a LOT of different people. Some were crazy weird, some were fantastically funny. All were very accommodating and friendly. After moving to Halifax and hosting a handful of surfers, I have learned what it means to be a good host. I'm always looking forward to having new surfers stay with me!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had great couchsurfing experiences in the past - being a surfer all across the United States on my most recent road trip, I can definitely understand and appreciate someone taking the time to open up their home to a stranger for some good chats, warm food, and a bed to sleep in!

Interests

I am interested with anything involving nature. Going for hikes, kayaking, biking, camping, climbing trees, frolicking in the rain... I have always appreciated living in one of the most beautiful places in the world, so as long as I'm outside, I'm happy! I also love to cook, bake, and dance all day & night. I don't drink much anymore, but can certainly appreciate a good glass of wine or craft beer!

Music, Movies, and Books

I have an affinity for any movies from 1920-1960. Charlie Chaplin, Fred Astaire, Marilyn Monroe, Ginger Rogers, Elizabeth Taylor, and Audrey Hepburn have been my idols since childhood. I listen to all types of music, from opera to african drumbeats to heavy metal. As for books, I'm also stuck on the classics - Hemingway, Tolstoy, Jane Austin, along with anything to further my knowledge of natural medicine or environmentalism.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many things have amazed me! The kindness of strangers, the sunrise over the Grand Canyon, bathing nude in the hot springs in Big Sur (on a cliff-face in the moonlight!), the sound of the ice crack and fall into the ocean from glaciers in Alaska...

Teach, Learn, Share

I am happy to teach all that I can, and in turn, learn all that my brain can possibly absorb. I love learning new skills, languages, and perspectives. Every person is fascinating in their own way!
