I'm a student and a freelance journalist who is interested in exploring different lifestyles and ways to travel. Other interests include politics, the economy, sustainabilility, human rights, feminism, utopias and dystopias, art and music, graphic novels, photography (film as well as digital), poetry and prose, diy, crafts, indigenous cultures, different religions and spirituality, history, good food and many others.
I live in a somewhat spacious studio in Turku, a bit outside the city center. I have a big couch that will fit two people. There's good bus service, and my flat is also quite near Ruissalo, a nice island with plenty of outdoor activities. Turku is an old city with plenty of culture and attractions, and the nearby archipelago is also worth visiting especially during the summer. Please note that I'm not looking to find dates via Couchsurfing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it is great to meet interesting people from all over the world. I'm also hoping to write more stories from abroad in the future, and I think living with a local is a great way to get some perspective and context to a different culture.
I like to discover things that are a bit off the beaten track, and I'd like it if a local host could show me their favourite places etc.. I'm also comfortable doing things by myself, so I don't need to be entertained all the time..

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd be happy to help with cooking and any other household chores. I have some gardening experience (not tons). I'm also fond of animals, so I can do dog-walking or cat-sitting, for example.
