My husband and I are traveling for his PhD studies and research in France, and we hope have memorable experiences with others during our journey. My studies were in public and community health in Chicago, with an interest in structural violence and racial disparities. My husband is a doctoral student in Sociocultural Anthropology. We are both originally from California (los Angeles and Bay Area 😬), I am Pakistani and my husband is Salvadoran.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Sharing with others-food connections laughs hospitality kindness care. Also, travel can be isolating and lonely if you are in a new place, and experiences are always more memorable upon meeting new people.

For me traveling is not to consume another culture or go from point A to point B, but to really enrich my understanding of history and people, and way of life, through having experiences, sharing, and learning from others.
