About Me

Hey, I’m Marie! I’m an architecture and restoration student with a big love for art, culture, and meaningful connections. I’m fascinated by old buildings, traditions, and the stories people carry with them.

In my free time, I enjoy photography, drawing, and exploring new places — whether it’s a hidden corner of my own city or somewhere far away. I’ve also been involved in community projects supporting elders and organizing creative activities for kids, which means a lot to me.

I’m an open-minded, curious person who loves good conversations, spontaneous adventures, and discovering the small, beautiful details in everyday life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe the best way to truly experience a place is through its people. I’m not interested in being a tourist, I want to connect with locals, hear their stories, and see the city through their eyes. Couchsurfing feels like a beautiful way to share experiences, exchange cultures, and create memories that go beyond guidebooks.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste changes faster than the weather — one day it’s dreamy indie, the next it’s nostalgic 80s, then maybe something weird I found by accident.

When it comes to movies, I’m torn between Purple Noon (for the drama and beautiful scenery) and Pride and Prejudice (because sometimes you just need intense stares and people walking in fields).

My favorite book is Bel-Ami by Guy de Maupassant — it’s basically about a guy being charming, ambitious, and slightly terrible, which somehow makes for a great read.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach you a little about Georgian culture, history, and maybe a few words or phrases (bonus points if you survive saying them). I can also share drawing tips, photography tricks, and how to spot the prettiest old buildings in any city.

Learn: I love learning about other cultures, local traditions, personal stories, and weird fun facts. Teach me your favorite recipe, a saying from your language, or how to dance like a local — I’m in!

Share: Good conversations, laughs, travel stories, music, movie recommendations, and maybe some doodles or photos as memories from our meeting

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good vibes, funny stories, and maybe some weird facts about Georgia you didn’t know you needed. I’d love to share bits of my culture, teach you a few Georgian words (warning: the pronunciation might break your tongue), and tell you about our crazy feasts and toasts.

If I manage to smuggle some Georgian snacks or sweets in my bag — they’re yours! I’m also always up for exchanging music, movies, or attempting to cook something together (results may vary). And if you’re into artsy things, I’d be happy to draw you a little thank you sketch or snap some photos.
