About Me

For some time now, I have been away from Couchsurfing, but now I'm eager to come back and collect some new experiences and memories from different people all around the world. I'm lucky enough to have a boyfriend with whom I can share these experiences.

As for me, I'm 27 years old, living between Georgia (Tbilisi) and Germany (Wuppertal) for now. I finished my degree in Philosophy and currently I work as a freelance translator and project manager. My main area of interest is the art and in particular, theatre. Back in Georgia, I work at an independent theatre company, Haraki, one of the main 'underground' (literally under the ground) spots in Tbilisi.

Back in the past, I used to work at different music and film festivals, as well as in publishing houses, and it happened so that my work always represented my interests of those times.

Living in Germany opened to me the perspective on other people's lives, different everyday practices and despite this, all the similarities that we, as people, have in the different parts of the world and I want to extend this knowledge and experience through travelling as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a wannabe traveler, I have personally found Couchsurfing to be an incredibly valuable resource. Not only has it allowed me to save money on accommodation costs, but it has also given me the opportunity to stay with local hosts who have been able to show me around and introduce me to their communities in a way that I never would have been able to experience otherwise. I have made lasting connections and friendships through Couchsurfing, and have always felt safe and welcome in the homes of my hosts. In addition, the website reviews and ratings system helps promote a culture of trust and accountability, which is important when staying with someone you may not know.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite writers are a mix of classic and contemporary authors. Some of my all-time favorite writers include Thomas Mann, Robert Musil, and William Faulkner. I also really enjoy the works of more contemporary writers such as David Foster Wallace, Roberto Bolano, Clarice Lispector, Virginie Despentes, etc.

As far as favorite directors go, I have a soft spot for Eric Rohmer and Chantal Akerman, taking into consideration their ability to create a certain type of atmosphere in their movies. I also really admire the films of John Cassavetes, Wim Wenders, Theo Angelopoulos (and many more), who has a talent for bringing complex, multi-faceted characters to life on screen.

When it comes to music, my knowledge is not very broad and I only rely on my instincts and moods. That is why I listen to all kinds of music from classics to hip-hop.

I'm interested to show you Tbilisi, not as a tourist attraction, but to show the real, local, authentic life of it. If you want, of course, we can see historical sightseeings as well.
