Hi! We are Mariam y Octavio, we're partners in life and at work. We are a couple of artists, we love drawing, handcrafting, nature, learning, and traveling.

We live in Bogotá, Colombia, and we have a small business together with a small shop in La Candelaria (the historic center neighborhood), where we sell objects that we design with our drawings (in watercolor and colored pencils) of Colombian biodiversity (mostly birds!). As you might have guessed, we like hiking and birdwatching, and those are some of the reasons that inspire us to travel. Luckily for us, Colombia has amazing natural places.
We're also inspired by visiting other countries and being marveled by the richness of different cultures, animals, people, landscapes, history and more. We can't imagine life without traveling has been offered to us so far. We're thankful for all what we have seen and all what people have taught and shared with us in the way.

We believe in love, kindness, respect, sharing, recycling, reusing. We don't believe in violence, discrimination, or stepping over people.

¡Hola! Somos Mariam y Octavio, somos compañeros en la vida y en el trabajo. Somos una pareja de artistas, nos encanta dibujar y diseñar, lo hecho a mano, la naturaleza, aprender y viajar.

Vivimos en Bogotá, Colombia, y tenemos un pequeño negocio junto con una pequeña tienda en La Candelaria (el barrio del centro histórico), donde vendemos objetos que diseñamos con nuestros dibujos de la biodiversidad colombiana (¡principalmente aves!). Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We love to travel and we believe that knowing places is great but knowing places and people is better. People stories, experience, conversations, give you a different perspective of this big world and that's how you understand it better and learn about it and even about yourself.

So we're here to learn, to listen stories, to connect, to share, to live.

Interests

Mmmm how to resume? As we already told before, we like drawing, birdwatching and hiking. Also learning about animals, walking around, we love to dance timba cubana (that's like cuban salsa), Mariam practices yoga, going to museums, movies, handcrafted stuffs.
