ABOUT ME
My friends would say that I am friendly, open, creative, easy to get along with, self-reliant, fun to be around, and mature. I am a 75 year old (semi-) retired professor of education who loves new experiences and travel.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I enjoy meeting and staying with people rather than just in a hotel. Airbnb has gotten too expensive and too impersonal. B&Bs are also a little expensive although I know why, owning one myself.
Intereses
Right now travel is high on my list as a result of the pandemic and how it has kept us at home. I have been a diver but it has been awhile. I love the underwater world and the freedom it gives me to go to inspiring natural places. I also love to bike, hike, read (I am an addict of reading), garden (I especially love organic gardening and permaculture), write (I have been a Writing Project Director for many years), see movies, and learn about all kinds of new things. I own a Bed and Breakfast in a 300 year old home and a small farm that services the B&B.

Algo increíble que he hecho
A recent dive I did in Amed, Bali amazed me. My dive master pointed out all kinds of macro life (why it is called macro life when it is extremely tiny, I don't know!) but I saw pygmy seahorses, porcelain crabs, and tiny, tiny shrimp. The underwater world is absolutely fantastic in the range of life you can see there! Additionally, I am always amazed by the kind of work students produce when they are allowed to take control of their own work and given the support they need. One of my student teachers constantly amazed me with the kind of teaching she was able to do and with the outstanding work her students produced. I have been traveling in Thailand and Bali and love the beauty of these two similar but different countries, peoples, and cultures, but one thing that negatively amazes me is the amount of trash you see strewn in the countryside. What can we do to limit the trash we produce?
