About Me
Note: This was my previous profile: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/mariana-batistap. I lost access but feel free to read my references :)
Hi,
My name is Mariana!
I am 23 years old, from Portugal but living in the Netherlands for almost 2 years. I moved here first for my thesis but I like it so much that I end up looking for a job here, and moved back again.
I consider myself a positive and curious girl :) Sometimes, I am little shy at first but it gets better once I get to know people better. I like to be active, learn about new cultures, meet new people and hear about their adventures!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
During my university years I wanted to use couchsurfing but I never did it, only to meet with other travelers. Then, after finishing my degree, I decided to travel for a longer time and decided to give it a try... I meet so many nice travelers and kind host which I am very thankful!
I want to give back to travelers myself as well :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Caminho de Santiago: different trips, different routes, by foot and by bike; to be repeated for sure!
- Italy: I lived 2 months in Valtournenche, in Italian Alps very close to Matterhorn (+4478 m). I had the best time of my life there!! I was working as a mountain guide so I had the opportunity to do so many nice things like hiking every single day, climbing, mountain biking, I went skiing and snowboarding in the Glacier, swim in very cold lakes, meet so many people, learn good recipes,...
Teach, Learn, Share
- I can teach you Portuguese, if you are interested! And I would like to improve my very basic Dutch, if you can help me! Currently using Duoling...
- I can teach you to bake 'Pastel de Nata' which is the most famous desserts in Portugal. You can buy it at Lidl as well but I assure you my recipe is way better hahaha
-Currently training for an Olympic distance triathlon!! Would be nice if you wanna train together :)
-Also, I am usually very curious and I like to try new things! So, if you have no one to join you in your adventures, you can ask me :)
