My name is Mariana Pasquet, I am 21 years old. I have attended German School and I am now close to get my university degree in Communications. I have always lived in Montevideo, Uruguay, a small and beautiful l country with gentle and friendly people. And so am I.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My dream is to travel around the world as much as possible. While geographies, cities and landscapes are of my interest, I do enjoy getting to know different cultures, new people and their and their customs.
Simply talking to people from the countries I visit, makes me feel in touch with their life. I think tourism is somewhat superficial when it is limited to visit beautiful places in massive guided tours. Instead, the most enriching experience is to talk to people living in the country.
Therefore, Couchsurfing is for me the best alternative as it provides the chance to live the culture from inside, share home with people living in their daily way.

Interests

Meet people, hang out and visit places that natives recommend me. I would like to visit those cities and places that have made the history of the country. .
I also like to taste the typical gastronomy of all countries to which I will then add it to my daily diet. I also like going out at night.

Music, Movies, and Books

I was fortunate to attend the concert of Paul McCartney and The Rolling Stones in Uruguay last year. On both occasions the whole country was maddened by the news that fellow musicians were coming.
My father, a great lover of music, invited me to go with him. Nowadays I appreciate his effort because I really don´t know if I'll see artists like Paul McCartney or Mick Jagger again in my life.
After attending those two concerts I started to listen and enjoy music from the 60s and 70s.
I must also admit that I am a big fan of the local music of my country and my continent. I like to dance and that's why I love the most.
I like action, history and suspense movies. However, I prefer the series. My favorite series are: 24, How I Met Your Mother and Prison Break.

I spend a great time reading, however, it is quite difficult to me to read during the busy year. On the other hand, I do read when traveling or on holidays in my country. Last year I traveled to Europe in September and I read And Mountains Echoed And, great book of the afghan Khaled Hosseini. That's my favorite book. Highly recommended !!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My biggest adventure will begin this year on July and will end in December. During these months I will visit Europe in depth and I will live in Madrid four months. No doubt that it will become my most precious memory.
