About Me

Hey there! My name is Mariana and I'm a super fun and easy going person, spontaneous, passionate, positive, transparent, straight forward, love to laugh a lot (seriously), hanging out. I'm always smiling and making jokes. I love my family and I'm a dog person (never had a cat but I like them too).
I work for JP Morgan as a WINTEL Sys Admin.
I like trying new things, I'm interested in other cultures and religions. I can talk about everything, no one gets bored around me.
I'm into movies, anime, series, music, online gaming (when I have time), technology, love working out as I think it's just not for the looks, it's therapy and super healthy. I enjoy watching soccer games with friends. Maradona will always be our D10S.
I had the chance to travel to lots of provinces in Argentina, I'm definitely in love with our south. Been to Brazil since I was a kid quite a few times too, and Uruguay, loved it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'll be traveling to Europe in September and will stay for more than a month so a friend of mine recommended this site as she used it when she did the same trip ten years ago and she had an AMAZING experience!!! I want the very REAL, LOCAL experience of culture, not the fake vague hotel experience most people would have. I want to meet new people and make friends from other countries. I also would like to host people at my place in CABA, Buenos Aires and show them my beautiful city. Being a host would be a great adventure too, I would make sure people feel safe and mostly comfortable.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music in general, but the 80's songs are the best (I grew up listening to Depeche Mode and The Cure), 90's are super good too. I also like classical music, Vivaldi is one of my favorites. I work out while listening to Metallica or Nu Metal (I used to be a big fan of Slipknot and Korn). I also like Visual Kei , X-Japan and Miyavi are on top of my list, but let's not forget about Malice Mizer, L'Arc en Ciel and Buck-Tick.
Of course I like tango, "Nostalgias" makes me cry every single time I listen to it, I prefer Hugo del Carril's version.
I'm into rock, pop, funk, indie, deep house too... I could be talking about music all day long, I should be sharing my Spotify profile, that would be better I think hahaha.
I love dancing (mostly cumbia and cuarteto argentino).
Regarding movies: OldBoy is my favorite (Korean one), The Exorcist (first time I watched it I was 8 years old and I loved it (luckily my dad had the novel so I had the chance to read it), Pulp Fiction, The Departed (even though it's a remake and I usually don't like those), Snatch (I like the whole Tarantino package, watched them all), Casablanca, Pride and Prejudice (I love Jane Austen's movies), Demolition Man, the Undisputed ones (Voyka ♥), Ong Bak, Rocky IV (I must break you lol), Terminator 2. Those are the ones I watched over and over again but basically I'm into horror, sci-fi, action, comedies, drama, everything... You name it, I'm in! Marvel fan btw, Asian movies and also Bollywood. Lynch, and Park Chan Wook are amazing. I discovered Lars Von Trier a few years ago and he blew my mind, totally recommend his movies. I like binge watching series. I don't know how many times I watched The Office and IT Crowd (they make me laugh every single time).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met Sergio Denis and took a photo with him at Córdoba's airport. Yeah, now you envy me, right?
