ABOUT ME

I'm a MSc in Biochemistry holder looking for a job. I'm originally from Penafiel, a town near Porto, but I've been living around while finishing my studies.
I'm a science geek, but have many other interests, the biggest of them being cinema. I love learning new languages and cultures and thus, I love traveling.
With CS I'll be able to do that more easily...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was kind of away from the CS experience for the last year, while I was doing my MSc thesis and living in London...both the thesis and London took away all of my time. Now I'm back and I hope to be able to return to my old CS ways. Right now I'm olny available to have coffee and show the city around (I'd welcome you in Penafiel, but I'm available to show Porto around to anyone, I've been told I'm a great host in that city). While I don't find a job I'll be very available for the city showing. When I find a job, I hope to be able to get a more CS friendly household.

I'm a real film buff, so I can't really say 1 or 2 films I love. I can say I love Quantin Tarantino, Pedro Almodovar, Tim Burton, Federico Fellini, Woody Allen, Martin Scorcese, but still, there are many more missing, but the list would be long...

As for music, I also love it. I'm more into alternative music. Faith no more, Peaches, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Pixies, Beck, Radiohead, Björk and many more. I also love portuguese music, such as Legendary Tigerman, Clã, Mão Morta, JP Simões, Blasted Mechanism, Deolinda. But again, I can't list them all.

Finally books...I like latin authors like Isabel Allende, Luís Sepúlveda, Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I can also mention some portuguese writers I like, Eça de Queirós, José Saramago, José Luís Peixoto...Right now I'm beggining to discover Haruki Murakami.
