About Me

I'm an open-minded and easy going mother of four stars. With a passion for biology, I am most in my element in the woods, mountains, heath, or on the beach, and love exploring the natural treasures of the Netherlands. My biology passion extends to animal behaviour, especially dogs and horses, and I have a lifetime of experience in dog- and horse training. I fell in love with the easy going Dutch in my early twenties, and built my life here from then on. But I still can't get enough of exploring this country.

I don't shy away from trying things a little out of the ordinary - hence maybe the couchsurfing - and if there is something that catches my sincere interest, I will likely follow up on it. For example, I recently started on the journey of learning to play the harp, and I am fascinated by the way music can touch people. When I meet people who share this little spark of crazy, I am always excited to get to know their story, to welcome their into my home, and learn from them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As soon as we will have finished the construction project around the house, we are happy to welcome couchsurfers to the countrytown of Zutphen. A couple of years ago, we have taken my father (turning 91 soon) permanantly into our home to help him with his everyday routine. He is not anymore able to life on his own. In the course of the day, I work full-time and are very happy that we can combine our jobs with taking care of my father.

As of now, we are looking for friendly travelers to bring the world to us. Taking care of my father makes it currently very difficult to go on travel myself. In the future we are looking forward to travel again, and maybe will have a chance to visit people we have met here in Zutphen.
Also, my daughter has had very good experience with couchsurfing, and I like to pay back the world for her lucky star!

In an ideal world, Couchsurfing would introduce me to a few kind people. I like to impact people positively, and will search for the ways my presence adds something to your life too. Exchanging language, cooking dinner for you. At the same time I'm quite a private person, and will probably need to spend part of the evening by myself or running in the woods, and won't only be social.

If this is something you think you can help me out with, and you think there is something in it for you too, it would mean a great deal to me.
