About Me

I am an exchange student from Germany and study Mechanical Engineering at KTH in Stockholm till June 2017. I already lived ant studied in Virginia (USA) for one year.
I used to travel in Europe with friends or family. My family always took me on long camping trips in summer and I still love to just take my tent and stay out in nature.
I am a curious person and staying abroad is such a great opportunity to broaden my horizon, get to know a different culture and many people.
After finishing high school in Germany I worked as a volunteer in a wildlife enclosure. This was the time of my life so far that developed my character the most. I worked in environmental education for Kindergarten and elementary school, spend most of the year outside and loved to work physically.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to get to know people and go to different special places or just spend an evening between some other activities with interesting people.

Interests

I am interested in Mechanical Engineering, but I am also very interested in nature, sustainability, the environment, education, music and social relationships. I like to go to the theatre or small concerts, I like tea -no matter which season-, I love spending time outside (for a walk, a hike or a picnic), I also knit whenever I have a lecture to watch or just when I feel like knitting is the best thing to do now. Ballroom dancing is my passion, but since ballroom dancing is not as popular around outside my German city, I started learning salsa, lindy hop and swing, which is a lot fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot at high school, but unfortunately stopped that when I started University. Now I usually listen to music when I am studying or I go to concerts. I played the recorder for more than ten years. That is probably why I like classical and medieval music. But in general, the music I listen to depends on my mood. Sometimes Latin Music makes me dance while I am cooking or Jazz helps me concentrate while studying. But you can also hear Rock, Rap, Metal and Pop resound from my room.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have traveled through Ireland with a friend that I meet at University. We only had our big backpacks and a tent with us and were fascinated by the hospitality and helpfulnes of so many people we met. Every day was different and spontaneous and the final place where we slept usually depended on the people we met or who gave us a ride. We slept in the mountains, on a farmer's field or at the beach. That was a unique and great experience.
