About Me

Hi fellow travelers! The past 4 years I traveled around the south of Africa, Europe, (south east) Asia and Oceania. Currently, I am back in the Netherlands in a small village at my parents place, working and planning my next trip around the world. I like adventure, write a daily diary while traveling and love to be with people. I see myself as a social, open and active person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, traveling is connecting with people, cultures and countries. Couchsurfing is a concept that really fits within this ‘philosophy’. I definitely don't see couchsurfing as just a free accommodation opportunity, that really annoys me. With couchsurfing I can connect with local people from cities and see how there culture and behaviour looks like. I love to here inspiring stories and ideas to create new travel dreams!

Interests

My main interests are based around sports and social activities. I love to do sports in many forms. Currently I like doing fitness, especially weight lifting. I also admire hiking, surfing, canoeing, volleyball, running, actually everything haha.
I also loooove cooking and baking! When I have an proper oven I always make the best banana breads and cakes.
I shouldn't be on couchsurfing if I didn't like traveling. It all started with my first placement abroad in Cape Town where my love for traveling, seeing new cultures and countries started. Since then I traveled through the South of Africa, a interrailing trip trough Europe and this trip around the world.
Lastly, I love to visit festivals. I like to be around with my best friends, good music and a beer. I prefer weekend festivals such as Solar, Defqon.1 and Sziget because of the atmosphere, people and the weather.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste is really diverse. But I love to go to festivals with nice bands and drinking beer in the sun while listening to them. I like bands and artists such as Milky Chance, Jeremy Loops, Crystal Fighters, Muse, Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Onerepublic, Macklemore and Dotan. My spotify list is filled with some mainstream music, hardstyle/hardcore, chilled morning music, RandB and some Dutch rap.
Within books I like information books about life experiences and meditation.
For movies I am a comedy/ romcom kinda person, but I am open for everything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have done heaps of amazing stuff, I would love to talk about that with a coffee or beer! But just to sum some things up:
- 2 skydives
- Bungee jumping
- 6-day rafting trail in Namibia
- Transmongolian express
- Interrailing trough Europe

Teach, Learn, Share

So I can teach and share about meditation, cooking, my life experiences, English and maybe some Dutch treats if I still have them left in my backpack. I’d like to learn spanish, skateboarding, playing guitar and how to be the best barista! I am also a sucker when it comes to yoga, I would loooove to learn more about that.
