ABOUT ME

I've lived in Bangalore for about seven years now, before which I've lived and studied in different parts of India and also the USA briefly. I work with a marine conservation NGO which has it's headquarters in Bangalore which means I travel a fair amount to different coastal states in India. You're probably wondering what Bangalore has to do with marine conservation, right? If we ever meet I'll tell you :).

I really enjoy doing theatre, though I haven't been an active participant in Bangalore. I'll get around to it! I also hang around the live music scene in Bangalore and Chennai, mostly because I can't hold a note or play an instrument so I have to live vicariously through the talented friends that I've made in this city. Oh well, someone has to be in the audience I suppose!

Books - gotta love them. I have a mini-library at home that is constantly being added to. I have two cats. As a kid I wanted to be Doctor Doolittle.

I host people when I can or meet up with travellers.

I used CS to find hosts and locals to hang out with when I was in Berlin and Barcelona and I had a great time. Hopefully I'll be travelling more so I can meet more people

This is a tough one so I'm going to make it a little easier for myself and not list specifics.

Music - Classic rock, blues, jazz, classical western

Authors - Terry Pratchett (I highly recommend him to science-fiction/fantasy fans),
Gerald Durrell, P.G. Wodehouse, Steven Eriksson

Movies - A bit of everything I guess. Science fiction and fantasy are at the top of the list. I also love musicals and anime, something that not too many of my friends watch.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've bathed an elephant in India, trekked in Yosemite, seen wolves in the wild in Yellowstone. I've also been peed on by a rhesus macaque which I suppose isn't something a normal person would advertise :P
