About Me

My name is Mariano, I have 24 years old and I live in Argentine with my two beautiful cats, (Lola and Nicky) that I love very much. I like all animals basically, but cats are very special to me and especially Lola and Nicky along with so others animal friends. I love honest people and I try to be as honest as I can, and say what’s in my mind the most respectful way possible. I like to keep myself busy.

I study film and TV in a film school in Buenos Aires, Argentine’s capital city. I enjoyed very much my time studying film, mostly because I learned many things of a world I didn’t know. But I didn’t study film for the love of movies itself, I consider myself more a writer or storyteller that discovered the wonderful yet sometimes stressful world of filmmaking. I always have imagination and a wish to tell stories that entertain people and at the same time let my feelings or way of thinking into a story. This is a characteristic that has been alive in me pretty much for my entire life, since I made a comic in primary school to trying to write a book in high school to film school.

I have hopes and dreams as everyone that I would also love talking about, but I feel sometimes is best to get to know someone little by little.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel, mainly because I Like to meet new places and people and one of the downside of going to a hostel, is that you don't meet or at least is very hard to meet local people, that can show you how the life, the food, the costumes, everything that makes a place unique is truly like. I would like to go to a place and get to see what makes it unique, by getting to know not only the places, but the people as well.

I also love hearing life stories of real people because if we are open of mind and heart, we can learn from each other even if we do not agree in everything.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a lot of different types of music, so I don't think I can choose one but I like a lot when I listen to a good sound track in a movie. Like one of my favorites movie is The perks of being a wallflower and I love the soundtrack. Also I listen to Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Gun and Roses or even a Jazz group.

I like a lot of different movies, like Lord of the Rings. The director that for me make my favorites movie are Tarantino, Tim Burton, Almodovar

I don't read much so I don't exactly have a favorite book but the first one that comes to me in "Mi Planta de Naranja Lima" I don't remember the story but I remember that is the only book that make my cry

Teach, Learn, Share

I consider myself very open-minded, so I don’t judge but I do have my opinions on things and I will defend them, though I’m open to change them if I’m presented a good argument that convinces me otherwise, for example "because it’s wrong" it’s not a good answer or "because I said so" is also a very poor answer. I believe that everything can be discussed as long as you respect the others views. I’m very respectful, so the last thing I want is to disrespect, so if for any reason I do so out a lack of acknowledge, please let me now. I consider respect as a two way street, for example I don’t smoke cigarettes so I don’t let people smoke in my house but if I’m in someone else's house and they let people smoke, then I have no problem as long as they don’t throw the smoke in my face.
