About Me
I'm still figuring out a one-liner with just the right amount of wit and humor to introduce how cool I am in all of my internet bios.
I grew up in San Francisco, and will be in NYC this summer for an internship in product design at Tumblr! Getting paid to laugh at memes??? My dream.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I get a real kick out of connecting with others, learning about them, and seeing all the different (or similar) walks of life from my own.
NYC is totally unexplored terrain for me. I visited once seven years ago for about four days, and spent a summer at Cornell around the same time. I'm eager to get to know the city bit by bit, and would be interested in seeing it from different people's perspectives.
Music, Movies, and Books
Pretty all over the place with music: from blink-182 to The Pharcyde, Jimi Hendrix, the xx, Tame Impala, Frank Ocean, A Tribe Called Quest, Yann Tiersen, etc. I'm always open to discovering new artists/bands or genres of music.
Favorite movies are Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Blue is the Warmest Color, Garden State (shhh, don't make fun of me).
I've recently made it a goal to read more fiction. I'd always wanted to read Haruki Murakami's books, so I started doing that a few weeks ago. So far I've read Norwegian Wood and Kafka on the Shore by him, and just picked up 1Q84. If you have any fiction recommendations, send them my way! Other than that, I have too many books on personal improvement, the brain, and psychology. They're just what I'm personally interested in and gravitate toward, but I definitely am open to expanding my knowledge to fields I'm unfamiliar with.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ich lebte ein Jahr in der Schweiz und lernte Deutsch (und ein bisschen Schweizerdeutsch), aber mein Akzent in Scheiße.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can treat ya to ice cream! Or pizza. Whatever your tastebuds are craving.
