Traveling in the USA for a half a year for work, fun and adventures.

ABOUT US

Maria was born in Russia and lived there till her 18th, then moved to study to Czech Republic. Beautiful city Prague became her second home. She has enjoyed picturesque nature there and many outdoor sports she has done in Czech with her adventures friends.
Later she lived in the great student city Lueven in Belgium, enjoying multicultural and multilingual atmosphere there and of course Belgian chocolate :)

Michiel was born in Antwerpen, Belgium and studied in Leuven where he also got his Phd. Now he works in London at KCL as a researcher.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is about a balance. Everything can be good or bad depends how much and in what way we have it in our lives.
Emotions are very important. All emotions. There are no good or bad emotions, crying and laughing, being sad or angry, happy or calm everything have it is own important place in our lives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW WE PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Maria used couch surfing few times in Belgium and Czech republic and it was a great experience. She met amazing, open-minded, adventurous people through it.

We are open to meet new people, help them and show them around in the city where we live.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Maria's first couch experience was in 2013 when stayed at the place of amazing young woman Diwertje for a few days when Maria came first time to Leuven to look for a room. Diwertje was an amazing person to meet and she made Maria's stay very comfortable, showed her around and gave good advices.

Maria's first couchserfer Filipe became her housemate. Filipe was an experienced and passionate traveler, he brought a spirit of couchsurfing in the house with hosting and traveling few times per month.

Maria participated few times in couchsurfing as a host and a guest.

Interests

We love to be outside in the nature, doing outdoor sports and talking to people. We like to meet new people but keeping contact with the one we know is very important as well. We like to have time just to read a book or watch a nice movie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We are very lucky because we've seen, done and experienced so many amazing things in our lives.
Maria has ran marathon and half marathon, climbed the mountains and caves, dived a little bit, ride horses and, made somersaults on the trampolines and many many others things :D
Michiel has finished Phd in Literary studies, wrote few books about ancient philosophy and can make the best Pasta Pesto ever ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

Maria is a physiotherapist so she can teach others how to treat their own bodies so it will be healthy. She knows a lot of very nice and helpful exercises for the body and souls :)

Michiel knows a lot about ancient world and societies.
