About Me

Due all the things that are happening in Venezuela I decided to go somewhere else, or in other words, I wasn't really happy there, so I was looking for a place where I could work in something that I like (something related to Human rights or International Law) or at least study (I'm really nerdy... almost all my trips involved an academic activity) so I applied for a scholarship at University for Peace (UPeace) to pursue my Master, I got it and since 2013 I'm in Costa Rica. Now I'm a PHD student and I'll be in Costa Rica for at least another 2 years :-)

Thanks to UPeace the past two years has been life changing for me... I've being doing different activities with people from all over the world so now I love cooking, surfing, capoeira, flamenco, running, yoga... i have friends all over the world and I'm looking forward to increase that list

I enjoy being with friends either eating, drinking or just hanging around doing a lot of nothing jajajaja I'm a really curious person, always trying to learn something new, meet new people and have new experiences. I'm always in for having a coffee, go to a museum, having a drink, go to the movies, go party... at the end if I'm with a friend I don't reall care too much about what we're doing

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don't really like touristic places (of course there're some exceptions) because I think that if you really want to know a place then you need to have some locals around you and that's exactly what couchsurfing is about... so why not give it a try?

Interests

I really like sports... I run almost every day, I practice capoeira (a brasilian martial art) and yoga at least once per week, and surfing.
I also enjoy dancing. I can dance almost any type of latin music... I'm not really a good teacher but I'm always willing to teach some moves and learn some others. For me dancing always is better when you have food and drinks so I think it can be part of my interests jajaja
As I mentioned in other parts I really like to study.... I'm a lawyer specialized on international law. Currently I'm researching about freedom of expression in Internet so I'm very much interested in technology, social media, human rights, and citizen journalism.
I really enjoy a good conversation on any topic because I believe that everyone has something to teach me.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to favorite things is really hard for me to decide jajaja on music it depends on what I'm doing... If I'm running I prefer electronic, If I'm reading I prefer jazz or flamenco, if I'm dancing latin music or electronic, and if it's a concert any type of music except for heavy metal...I'm not really a rock person.

For food I usually prefer asian because it includes a bunch of countries jajajaja I love Indian, Sri Lankan, Japanese, Chinese, Korean... but I also love mediterranean

What I Can Share with Hosts

I know I bunch of different facts/things that I'm really happy to share...
I will love to show you some Venezuelan things, I can make arepas (the most common Venezuelan dish) show you some Venezuelan music, books, drinks...whatever you want to know about the country :-)
I think I'm also pretty good in recommending activities in Costa Rica so I can also share many things of this beautiful country.
Thanks to UPeace I have friends all over the world, working in different fields and If I can I'll be more than happy to make some new connections for you
