About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make new friends, travel, and live it up!

ABOUT ME

I just graduated from Arizona State University May 2013 with a Bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations of Biochemistry and Spanish. :) I love to travel, make new friends, volunteer, and lead a peaceful life with random moments of craziness.

I am a nerd. I love science. I love languages. I love history. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to travel. I have been all over the US, Mexico, El Salvador, Spain, New Zealand, and Australia. :)

I have worked doing research in Psychology, Social Work, and Engineering. I am a well rounded person with many interests. I have a passion for life and people.

I am a "Burner" which means that I participate in Burning Man events. I am open minded, friendly, outgoing, and a lot of fun! I have been to several "burns" including Burning Man 2011. I love art, nature, and good food! My life is full of beauty.

PHILOSOPHY

Live it up, love a lot, and learn in the process.

I believe in respecting all people and in integrity. Honesty is really something that is very undervalued and something that I value highly. I believe that all people are capable of kindness if you just give them the chance and treat them with them with respect and love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't have a couch to share with people passing through since I moved to Phoenix but I happily meet up with people for drinks/coffee/lunch if my schedule permits it. I am a full time student which has its benefits and demands. I am a downtown Phoenix girl and I know Central Phoenix and Tempe, Arizona since I have lived in both cities most of my life.

I have met up with people for coffee, I respond to questions on the message boards, respond to e-mails, and whenever possible I host people. Summer 2010 I went with a large group of CouchSurfers to TentSurf in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico (Rocky Point). We had a ridiculously great time. it was super chill and I got to meet lots of travelers and hosts.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been hosted several times now and each experience was unique and wonderful in it's own right. I couchsurfed in New York and in California. I am grateful to my wonderful hosts who so kindly opened their home to me. :)

If I meet people who are new to town and I take them around town for the night they sometimes crash at my place. I made really amazing friends from California at a church retreat I went on in May of 2007 who crashed on my couch for two nights and now I'm sure we're going to be friends for life.

I have now hosted several people through the site and not all of them have actually left me a referral. Either way it was a good experience and through each traveler that has come through I have learned to be a better host. I like to cook and if I have time I will cook for my guests. I like to introduce my guests to my friends and when I am not too busy I will take them around or at the very least let them borrow my bus pass so that they can get around the city. I have also met up with people who were in town for a few days and shown them around town. :)

Interests

I love music, dancing, good food, naps, and beautiful things. I love new experiences especially those that involve smiling really big, simplicity and kindness. I like flying kits, jumping around, and doing the things that we used to do as children that made us so happy for hours and now we've forgotten. I like bubbles, spinning around, running through sprinklers (maybe that's an Arizona thing), picking flowers and putting them in your hair.

I love and appreciate art.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In October 2010 I took a nap in the woods in Delaware inside of a dome... the dome was filled with the fresh rose petals 50 THOUSAND different beautiful fragrant colorful roses! There were two ladies dressed as fairies who were floating the fresh rose petals over me as I napped and they landed on me. It was amazing!

I have been bungee jumping in New Zealand, that was pretty amazing. I also visited a small fishing town in Mexico that had whale skeleton just a mile from the shore. I walked into the whale's belly and had lunch there once. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to roll your Rsss! Haha... hmm I can teach you simple salsa dancing moves!

I can teach you a bit about the structure of DNA, chemical bonds, and how to read maps. :)

I would like to learn how to be a good hoola hoop dancer!

Hmm... I like to give hand massages so I can share a hand massage!
