About Me

I'm studying math at the university, so that takes up most of my time now. But I still love to travel and or meet people traveling, so I do that as much as I can. In the past I've been an exchange student in the US and worked as an au-pair in Australia, and other than that I've done quite a bit of traveling in Europe, and also a little in south-east Asia and Australia. I absolutely love traveling and always try to meet up with people through CS if I can. If you're traveling to Bergen and need any advice or want to meet up, send me a message and I'd love to hang out if I'm available. I might be able to host, but it depends on my roommate and class schedule. But I will try as much as I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've done some traveling where I've both been hosted by some awesome people and met some great friends through this website. I love meeting new people and making new friends all over the world, and hearing about other cultures and stories from their past travels. Of course I'll also happily share my stories and help with anything I can.

Interests

When I'm not studying or traveling I like to be outside, running, hiking or cycling. But I also enjoy a nice cup of tea inside with a good book or a movie, often with my knitting close by. I also enjoy being in the kitchen cooking or baking, and would be happy to have someone over for dinner if you want to. To be honest, I probably eat more pasta, pizza and tacos than actual Norwegian food, but I still know some good recipes, so no worries ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music. All music. I can't say that there are any genres I really don't like, as it's more specific if I like any individual song or not. My oldest and probably most favorite music would have to be rock music though. I'm not a huge fan of anyone; if I like a song or a band I'll listen to it, but that's pretty much it.
When it comes to movies I like a lot of different genres there too. I do like more action filled movies, or movies with a message. I love the marvel movies, the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit are amazing, and I'm pretty much up for any movie if you ask me to watch something. Same goes for Tv shows. My oldest and favorite show is Supernatural, but I also enjoy crime shows, sitcoms and panel shows.
I also love to read, but unfortunately don't have as much time to that as I'd like. Even though I definitely prefer "real books", I read a lot of books on my kindle, as it's easier to bring along. I'll read anything from Game of Thrones to John Grisham books to Young Adult fiction. I also have a reading challenge with my sister. I am losing.....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sadly, I haven't really done anything super exciting in my life yet.
One time I picked up a hitchhiker (40yo male) alone and didn't get murdered, regardless of my parents telling me that would happen, haha... We travelled together for over 6 hours that day and had some great conversations!
Oh and one time I broke a front tooth in a sketchy overnight train in Eastern Europe as I fell from the top bunk. Then I had to wait until I got back home to really get it fixed. Not really "amazing", but it still makes a good story haha (it was not as funny at the time.....)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll happily take you on some of my favorite hikes, or show you around the city. I would also be happy to cook some Norwegian dishes for you, or simply some good comfort food after a busy day. Other than that, I just want to meet people and learn about other countries, cultures and people, and hopefully help people with the same things and anything else they might need in their travels.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories of past travels and recommendations on where to go and not. I'd be happy to help with cooking or cleaning. And of course just some nice conversations.
