Overview
About Me
Hi. I am a 21 year old happy, friendly, random, and crazy young woman. My name is Mariche (pronounced like the island.. But without the 's' :D).
I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, and moved to Potchefstroom 2 years ago, where I am currently studying my BA degree in Psychology and Languages, to become a teacher. I am planning on moving to the USA to Au Pair after my final year of studying.
I had the opportunity to travel to Italy and Greece when I was 17, and following that I saw Zimbabwe and Zambia at 18 (Victoria Falls BLEW MY MIND!!!). I loved it soooo much that my goal is to travel the world as much as I possibly can (if my bank account allows it :P).
I have also traveled to England and France in December 2015.
I cherish my relationships with friends and family.
I am in love with my pets.
My hair has been nearly every style and colour imaginable.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Just 'cause.
Being a student (AKA broke) and still having the expensive taste of travelling the world...
LOL just kidding..
All jokes aside, although there is a grain of truth in the above, I am an extremely sociable person - a people person, if you will - I absolutely adore meeting new people, learning about new cultures, and being taught of other people's life views and experiences.
PS I love sharing mine in return ;)
Interests
I am first and foremost an amateur singer with a moderately nice voice (Youtube me if you must! just excuse the poor song choices ^^ ) just type in my name and voila.
Food, food, and oh look! More fooood!! I believe that a good meal, whether cereal or gourmet 5 course dinner, when created with quality and love, is the best way of getting to know a person alongside warm conversations and good laughs.
I love listening to music! '80's remains my favourite genre, but I have found a new adoration for punk rock and indie (in the style of Walk Off the Earth).
My hobbies include watching Netflix, Pinterest (anyone?), and Instagram.
In short (*cough* long) whatever I do, be it staying home, or going out, when done with good friends and company of loved ones, time has much higher value.

OMW it was Amazing! See a photo under my pictures!
And because I talk too much, here is another thing..
I had blue hair! (Once again, check the pics!)
Teach, Learn, Share
I am so looking forward to, most importantly, making new friends. I believe that making friends with people of different cultures is extremely necessary, to discover more diverse life views, and more understanding for humanity in different circumstances, to grow as a person.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am very open to new experiences and enjoy learning new things. I can share stories, laughter, love, and the Oxford comma.
Although it's hard to get to know somebody via a profile such as this one, the easiest thing to do is say: once you meet me, you'll understand the type of person that I am.
I will make you coffee or tea, cook with you, talk with you, and make memories with you, and I look forward to the experience!
