ABOUT US

We are a french couple who met each other in 2008 in Wales during a student exchange. And since then, we never separate =)

Marion : I'm a sociable person who likes speaking with everyone ; I'm always laughing even about stupid things. I am a vegeterian who likes cooking and eating healthy food. I truly love french cuisine but I am also crazy about asian cooking, especially Thaï and Indian. Now I am planning to have a little garden in our terrace, it is the very beginning but I am very excited about it. And more than anything else, I LOVE travelling, meeting new people, discovering new cultures, new landscapes and new langages...
Kevin : I think I am also kind of social person, even if I do not speak as much as Marion... As her I like travelling and we had a great year in 2014-2015 when when we have been travelling toghether.

PHILOSOPHY

Living in the present and loving it! We really want to enjoy life, for the best and the worst. And we always try to do each thing in respect with the people and the environment. We do have only one life but we also have only one planet and it is our responsibility, for the next generations, to protect it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When Marion was living in Lyon, she was quite active in the couchsurfing community. It was easier because she was a student and she had a lot of time =) Now we will try to be actives in the couchsurfing community of Cáceres because we know that it's a good way to meet very interesting people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

After hosting in Lyon, we used couchsurfing during our first trip to the United-States during 3 weeks in 2009. It was just awesome ! During our world trip in 2014-2015 we used it in Asia (which is not that easy), in Australia and in North America. Now we can't imagine travelling without couchsurfing because that is a unique way to meet people and share their daily life. We are disgusted that a lot of hosts have chosen to change for AirBnB, which is not the same philosophy at all !

Interests

Marion : I like cooking, cinema, photography, literature and I love historic things especially cathedrals. I read a lot of thrillers, fictions books and french literature... Now I am more and more in audio books which are so convenient when you travel ! I worked during 2 years in an organic shop as communication officer and I am now very interested in organic farming, seeds saving and all the alternative way to produce and eat without destructing the environment.
Kevin : I work in the automotive industry as project manager. Even if I do like speaking about cars, mechanics and motorcycles I also like to discover our host/guest occupations and discuss about it. I could describe myself as an handyman, I love building things and finding simple solutions to solve problems.
During our trip I have discovered that I love taking pictures, mostly macro pictures of small insects.
We are both crazy about good food, table games, hiking in great landscapes...

Music, Movies, and Books

We don't have the same interest in movies, music and books.
Marion : I prefer author movies which make you dream or teach you something. I am also mad about Westerns, I can't really explain why, maybe for the sexy cowboys ;-) I like music but I am not very educated in this area, I need good teachers ! I looove reading a lot of different things : travel books, fantastic stories, classic french literature, thrillers...
Kevin : I am more interested in science fiction and fantastic movies and thrillers. I don't really like to read books but I found the good balance to still learning thing through the books : audio books. From my point of view, it is not as boring as a regular book and during my business trips, it is a good way to "read" easily =)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every day is amazing =)
In september 2015, we came back after a 1 year trip around the world. One year earlier, we booked our plane tickets and we left with our backpacks. It was such a unforgettable experience. We have been 6 months in Asia, 2 months in Oceania and 4 months in North America.

During our trip we met a lot of people from various social, geographic and cultural areas : it was ALWAYS a gift to see that as different they can be, they were all wonderful. For sure Couchsurfing helps to discover the nicest people around the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

We would be more than happy to share our cooking knowledge (most of all french dishes), organic farming, eco-construction... We can teach french if someone sees interests learning this language =)
As we are "New in this city" we would be more than happy discover Cáceres and its surroundings with you if we have free time (Marion does not work at this time but we hope it will change soon).

Anything we can learn from you is welcome as we love learning new things.
