About Me

I am a 24 year-old French woman, but I haven't actually managed to stay in France for more than a few months at a time in the past 7 years. The travel bug got me when I was 15 and went to live in Singapore with my family for a few months. Since, I've lived for a year in Sweden as a High School exchange student, two years in Lithuania (one year as an Erasmus exchange student and the other year as an EVS volunteer), and I recently came back from living in La Plata, Argentina March 2018 to late January 2019 (doing an internship for my studies and travelling). I am currently living and working as a long-term volunteer in Madrid, just got here in February!
As a person, I consider myself to be pretty laidback, openminded and curious. As an introvert who's gotten over her shyness, I love having all sorts of conversations with people, but I'm still not a fan of loud crowded places; I'll choose drinks at a bar, a chill night in watching a movie with friends or sharing a nice meal at home, over spending the night at a club, for instance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At the moment I'm mostly looking to meet new people here in Argentina, though maybe I'll get to looking for hosts when I get to travelling a little more around the country/continent!

Interests

My very first love was reading; I became a bookworm as soon as I learned how to read, starting with Harry Potter and making my way up through different styles - though fantasy did remain my favorite genre - and languages. Logically, reading led to writing, though I never really got serious about it. For lack of time or motivation? Who knows.
Other than that, I have loved cooking ever since I was around 10: it's a great way to use all the creativity I am no longer putting into writing, while being able to pick things up from my travels. And most importantly: I love the whole sharing aspect of cooking: sharing recipes, sharing the finished product, sharing the actual cooking process.
I travel quite a lot, as I already wrote earlier, and I picked a travel-companion while living in Lithuania: an ukulele that I've slowly but surely learned to play, but which makes for a great ice breaker. I think I don't play it that badly, but I can't play and sing on most songs at the same time, which makes it pretty obsolete most of the time, but it's always fun to play it while others are singing some famous tune. It's also quite dorky, but I guess you've understood by now that I AM indeed just that.
