About Me
"If you can dream it, you can do it." Walt Disney
I'm studying political sciences and international relations as well as computer sciences at the University of Zurich and studied environmental sciences at ETH Zurich. I'm Swiss and my hobbies are sports, music (I play the violoncello since I'm 10 and love to play in youth/student symphony orchestras and my favourite band is MUSE & I'min love with the music of Hans Zimmer), science (nearly every topic is highly interesting and the interdisciplinary combination makes it even more attractive), arts, politics (especially sustainability related UN conferences and climate change negotiations), international affaires, photography, rubik cube (especially the 7x7x7)... I like to do outdoor-sports (swimming, hiking, cycling, sailing, skiing, cross-country ski...), love to travel (sustainably) around our fascinating world so I often need a place to sleep. I'm curious, open-minded and always positive (it's not easy, but friends say that I'm a realistic optimist) and mostly full of power and energy. I worked at ETH Zurich (material sciences), EPFLausanne (cancer research), University of Basel (physical chemistry & atomic force microscopy) and University of Stuttgart (bionics) and now I'm studying as described. I'm doing a lot of voluntary activities on different issues about sustainability (not only about climate and ecological topics, sustainability is much more) on a local, national and international level. Since it is not possible to describe my life and all my interests and passions in some words, I welcome the opportunity to host you or be hosted by you. :-)
One special fact about me is that I'm totally in love with pandas - I know I'm actually to old for panda plushie, but they are soooo cute...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
1. I love to meet new people! I know this sounds like a cliché, but I believe, that every connection you make with human beings, enriches you. And to get to know a person in their daily environment, is a chance not only to get to know a place/city better, but to connect better with the people enliving it. Travelling broadens my horizon and I do so even more if I stay with local people because this is the best way to get to know different cultures as I actually get to experience how people in other countries live.
2. I like all kind of people especially interesting ons... But what make you interesting? I would say if you are different! That can be weird stories, crazy in emotional or lifestyle way, special things you do or did, cool stories of your life or much more. It can be about your work or study or maybe the sport you are doing or the music you are playing? Maybe you biggest dream or wish... Let's talk about it! I can bring some Swiss chocolate if you want.
3. But the main thing is exchange idea, culture and get new connection - Simple pleasures are life's greatest treasures. :-)
