My name is Mary! I’m 22 years old and live in Heidelberg. I moved here for my studies in 2019 and grew up in a small village, close to Trier – which is a beautiful wine growing area at the river Mosel. Right now I‘m staying in Gießen for my internship.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on CS cause I’ll start a little tour across Europe in May and would love to meet some new people while traveling and also meet native people to show me around some secret places and bring their culture and food closer to me.
A friend of mine traveled with CS through the USA and told me about it and her great experience with!

Interests

In my free time I love to hang out with my friends, have some good talks and listen to music. I love baking, especially birthday cakes or cupcakes. I love abstract acrylic painting and writing postcards. I love to play any kind of sports, especially volleyball – that’s my favorite! in winter I prefer to go skiing.

Music, Movies, and Books

🎶 I basically listen to everything, except of metal and EDM. If you love EDM you could probably convince me to listen to it tho 😁 Love chill music like indie, pop, english rap, some rnb and festive german music.
Current favorit band: Provinz (German indie pop)

🎥 My all time favorit movie probably is titanic (haha i know)
I love horror/ thriller movies! Most appreciated director is Peter Jakson and love his movie: Lovely Bones
Current series so watched: How to get away with murderer and La venganza de las Juanas

📚 I have to confess, that I don’t read much (lately)
Still think the Harry Potter Booke are pretty legit and I enjoy reading Sebastian Fitzik or Simon Beckett (Thriller)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One out of many good experiences was skydiving in 2018 – just felt great.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could probably teach you some German (and English), how to bake pretty awesome cakes and if we can find a volleyball than that too 👌🏼
I‘d love to learn some Spanish and Portuguese, also very open to any other languages or whatever you’d like to teach.
Definitely can share some funny stories, good talks, some knowledge about wine – since I grew up in a winegrowing area.
