Overview
About Me
My name is Marie, I am a French student eager to discover the world!
I enjoy travelling, discovering new countries and cultures. I've also done some woofing previously (in the UK) and I loved it, it was a great experience.
I am easy going and eager to meet people!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think that Couchsurfing is a fantastic way to visit new places and meet people!
Based on my previous experiences, I truely believe that the best way to discover a different culture is to exchange with people and experience how they live (not only to go sightseeing and visit museums, although I like it too!).
Interests
Since I've been living in Singapore, I really like travelling!
I also read quite a lot. One of my favorite "hobbies" is to hang out in second hand-book stores and buy books at random. I made nice discoveries this way :) Among my favorite authors are Mark Haddon, Jack Kerouac, Stefan Zweig... I recently read The Great Santini by Pat Conroy and I loved it, so I am currently on a "Pat Conroy Marathon"!
A couple of years ago, I tried rugby for the first time and I've been playing it since then. I miss it when I don't play for some months!
I watch various TV shows: Homeland, Scandal, TBBT, Suits, That 70's show...
Recently I have started cooking (it's a start!) and I like trying new recipes :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Here are some of the latest artists, authors and films that I've seen and enjoyed:
- Music: Parov Stelar, Skip the Use, Alt-J, Rizzle Kicks, The Fratellis, The Kooks...
- Movie: Boyhood, Gone with the Wind
- Book: Saga - T. Benaquista, To kill a mockingbird - Lee Harper, The Great Santini - Pat Conroy
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Trecking for 3 days in the Burmese countryside: we were a small group of students accompanied with local guides who let us discover their country. We slept at the habitant, on the floor and were completely deconnected from the rest of the world (no electricity, no running water). That was the best experience I've ever had! Plus the Burmese countryside is really beautiful!
