Hey! My name's Marie, and I'm currently setting out on a year of travel in order to study French and Spanish, volunteer and adventure.

Some of my favorite things are immersing into different cultures, learning new languages, traveling, food, coffee, wine, pretty much any new adventure, and all things outdoors. Couchsurfing is the epitome of the best of travel: hanging out with people in the place, sharing food and conversation, and getting glimpses into each other's lives! I've met some amazing people through it and I can't wait to host when I get my own place next year.

. I just came off of two years of teaching in Japan in July 2018, and in August I started this gap year of sorts- first in France for 3 months, and now South America!
