Overview
About Me
I am Marie and I was born and raised in Cologne,Germany. I am 19 years old.
One of my biggest dreams has always been to visit the United States of America. So that is why I did an exhange year in Colorado for ten months. I met a lot of interesting people, got to experience new things and see some of the most breathtaking landscapes out there. I came out stronger since it wasn't always easy.
I am a bit reserved in the beginning but when I get to know people I can be very funny and outgoing :) I love being outdoors to go hiking or doing a good workout. Animal are one of my true passions and since I grew up with all kinds of pets, (birds, mice and a dog) I am totally finde with any pets.
I am also vegan but I don't mind it at all when other people eat animal products in front of me. I can cook my own meals or help cooking. I would love to share some of my recipes.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like multiple books I like but my favorite book is Marley and Me from John Grogan, because it shows us that sometimes the smallest things can give us the biggest support.
My two favorite movies are 'The Basketball diaries' with Leonardo Dicaprio and 'Good Will Hunting' with Matt Damon. I like them so much because I enjoy Drama movies and they are so incredibly well written and acted that it is a pleasure to watch them. I am also a huge Geek, therefore I love Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.
My favorite TV-shows are "OC California", "Supernatural" and "Breaking bad".
And sometimes a funny episode of "The Big Bang Theory" can't hurt :D
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I studied abroad in Colorado, USA for one year.
There were times where I wanted to quit because my hostfamily was awful but the, I changed families and came out stronger. I am glad that I didn't give up when it was really bad.
Going on my first solo trip to Cape Town, South Africa. It was awesome :)
Paragliding over Lions head and Table Mountain in Cape Town.
Seeing wild dolphins in San Diego.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn why people live in the city or country they live in and what they like and don't like about it.
I would love to share my stories, dreams and interests. I don't want to talk about the weather, I want to know what people dream about, what their favorite food is or why they have always wanted a dog, just stuff like that. The important things :-)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have experience with "culture shock" since I have lived in the States for a year.
While I might be nervous at first I am usually always up for an adventure.
