Hello! I'm Marie, a student in English literature in Paris. I like getting lost in worlds of fiction, from more classical films to SF books, just as much as I love exploring the real world around me. I firmly believe that you can always discover something or someone interesting by going just a little out of your usual way, even in a city you have known for years.
But in a whole new country or culture it will be even more exciting of course!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet the inhabitants, who for me are the ones giving the place where they live its charm. I hope to have a more direct and natural experience of a new culture thanks to the hosts.
But it's also the possibility for me to exchange the knowledge I have on French culture, and if you are interested maybe to cook you some crêpes!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite author is Daniel Pennac, but I recently became a huge fan of Terry Pratchett (don't hesitate to talk and to me about the Discworld). I also love more classical authors such as Virginia Woolf or Victor Hugo, and any books you would recommend is welcome. I love all kinds of music from classical music to hip-hop (except reggae, I don't know why) but I prefer rock and hard rock groups such as Queen, Muse, or the Foo Fighters. I just can't choose a movie director, I'm a fan of Tarantino as much as Xavier Dolan or Fritz Lang.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling alone for the first time ever, to Strasbourg was one of the moments in my life when I felt as I was the happiest and the freest person in the world, even if it was still in France.
