About Me

ABOUT ME

Hey, I am Marie, I’m French !

I really like to travel and I still have so much to do and see. I do appreciate and accept the differences in other cultures. I cannot stay one year without travelling and discover new places. It helps me to grow, be more open-minded and meet people from different background :)

I am a respectful, calm and patient person. I can adapt to any kind of situation.

I am actually looking for a job and I don’t have a settled place to live.

I had the chance to travel and live in different countries.
I lived 2 years in England when I was a child. When I was a teenager, I used to go to either Ireland, England or US (Chicago) to improve my english skills staying with families or in language schools. I went to Australia for 1 year to university and learned hospitality management. During college, I worked 3 months in Scotland, studied 6 months in Taiwan, worked 6 months in Canada and Ecuador.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is a great great community. Couchsurfing is definitely a more interesting way for people to travel around the world! When you spend time having interesting conversations with your host/guest. This is why every time as you come back from your journey, you got more by meeting people.

I have been to several countries, and met some awesome hosts. Once back in my study city, I hosted travelers at home. It was an awesome experience that makes me want to keep participate in Couchsurfing.

For me, Couchsurfing is not a thing that people just call someone for staying few days because they do not want to pay for the accommodation. It is to share the ideas and cultural background, to make new friends, to see more by staying with locals, to learn a bit of a language, relax or doing activities together. The idea is also to contribute to food & beverage while I host or surf.

Interests

I like to go out to explore new places when I can, event not far from where I am.
I like hiking, visiting local places, eating local food, sharing cultures, swimming, cycling, practicing yoga.
I enjoy discover places like hidden restaurants and bars where no tourists can find, depending on the destination.
I like to learn new language, as my Spanish is still improving.

Teach, Learn, Share

As a host : Sharing what I can at the given moment. I will offfer my guest with clean and tidy room and homely environment.
I can help you plan your trip in France, give you recommendation about interesting places. I can teach you some French if you would like to. You can also use my kitchen if you want to cook a nice vegetarian dinner.
I am learning how to practice qi gong (and yoga) and will be glad to show you and share my new skills.
I have a lot to share with you, depending on your interests but mostly honesty and peace :)

As a surfer : Sharing what we can at the given moment. I would be glad if you could teach me a bit of your language and to share food you like :) I can cook vegetarian food, teach a little of French, do some house chores, help for transportation cost if needed, offer you a drink or even going out (have a drink a beer or a ginger rooibos tea).

What I Can Share with Hosts
