I have recently left my hometown Berlin after spending the three previous years in Tanzania working for different charity projects to now go on a trip around the world with my boyfriend. The first part is kajaking down the Danube river, after we will go to Asia via autostop and hopefully ride around China and Mongolia on a horse and cross the oceans sailing or hitchhiking on a cargoship. Our only rule is not to take a plane as we're trying to travel as environmentally friendly as we can and to actually experience the whole way. Always looking for new adventures and friends all over the world and exchanging stories at a bonfire or over a delicious homecooked meal!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have met amazing people through couchsurfing in loads of different countries. It's such a wonderful opportunity to get to know locals and experience a country with its culture in a different way and to make new friends.

Interests

I've spend the past three years living in Tanzania working for small charity projects. I fell in love with the country and its people who have such a different understanding of the world compared to western views. I travelled around East and southern Africa and found my second home in Tanzania. I find peace in nature, especially by the beach but I do enjoy exciting cities all over the world as well as I grew up in Berlin, an absolutely amazing place. To me there's nothing better in the world than putting up a hammock somewhere outside and I could easily just never go back indoors again. I like to be active and try new things and sports such as skateboarding, surfing, hiking etc. but im also quite a lazy and chilled person sometimes and like to lay on the beach all day reading a good book! I am always trying to see the best in people and stay positive no matter what happens! My favourite animals are monkeys and sloths and i wish i could spend my life up in the trees of the jungles just like them.

Music, Movies, and Books

I generelly love reading but my all time favorite book is Warriors of the Rainbow by Bob Hunter. I really enjoyed Siddharta by Hesse as well as Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts and the Goldfinch by Donna Tartt (read it if you havent)! I like to listen to Reggae and (Old School) Hip Hop but I am open to all different types of music, I used to play the piano and now i am learning how to play the guitar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've ever done was leaving my home for such a long time to find out what life is actually about. Im still looking for the answer but living in a country like Tanzania got me a big step closer to it than I would have ever expected.
