ABOUT ME

I'm an easy going person (so do I think !), I'm curious and independent. I love cooking, eating and inviting friends for a meal, going for walks, lazying in the sun. I'm quite active. I'm a morning person, even if I like going out at night. I don't like when I wake up late (after 10 am) because I have the feeling that the day is almost over, and I usually love the morning light in summer. I don't smoke, I like having a glass of wine or a beer with friends ! I have good friends but I also appreciate being on my own, doing things alone.

PHILOSOPHY

Why do I live for ? that's a complicated question. I try to remember that you don't need that much to be happy, just the bare necessities ;)
Otherwise, I feel very concerned by the environment, by injustice in the world, by the unfair relations between Northern and Southern countries but I'm not that involved in political parties or actions. I try to be honest and to pay attention to people around me. I keep in mind : treat others as you would like to be treated.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host people when they ask and I couchsurfed for the first time in July 2010, in Scotland and I loved it : I met very nice people and it was great to spend time with different new people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed in Scotland, in July and I met various people, all very nice. I've had a very positive experience of couchsurfing, even if I always feel a little anxious before I meet people for the first time, because, because you never know if you're going to get on well with them or not. As a host, I had a couchsurfer for one night and very recently, a CSer and his son for two nights : it's been interesting and great to meet people and share time, talks and meals with them !

Interests

I love reading, going to the cinema and theatre. I also like cooking and having friends for a meal. I listen to a lot of music and go to concerts when I can. I do some yoga. I have a garden and I like gardening. I love travelling and I would love to travel more, on my own and/or with my children.
Since September 2011, I've been taking singing lessons and I love it ! I'm also a WWOOFER and that's another great experience. I've done twice in England and Wales and hope to continue wwoofing in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all kinds of music : jazz, classical music, rock. I love jazz, especially jazz from New Orleans and singers such as Madeleine Peyroux, Térez Montcalm, and many others.
My favorite authors at the moment are : Margaret Atwood, Marguerite Yourcenar, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I like female writers, detective stories too. I like discovering new things. I usually like drama movies, I rarely go and see comedies. I like Ken Loach's movies, Belgian cinema and also many different movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't know..... Many things can be amazing, depending on the way you look at them....

There are many things I'd like to learn. I can teach French cuisine for instance ;)
