About Me

I have a lot of jobs but don't seem to make a lot of money... and so it goes. I enjoy being creative and making art, but more frequently I enjoy helping others make art: right now that happens at a youth center as an informal art teacher. I also make cakes and take care of my sister, and in my ever-decreasingly spare time I try to travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Some of my favorite memories from travel have been of the Couchsurfing experience itself. I can only hope to repay a fraction of the kindness and hospitality shown to me in my travels.

Music, Movies, and Books

Always listening to: The White Stripes, H. Hawkline, Wild Beasts, Townes Van Zandt, David Bowie, We Are Scientists, The Hives, Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom, instrumental Jazz

Currently listening to: Teleman, Orville Peck, Band of Horses

Generally, I love a lot of movies. I try to watch everything with an artistically critical eye, but I love really dumb movies too.

I've lost the knack for reading, but I'm working my way back to it. Some current favorites have been Killing Commendatore and Dune. I generally go for historical fiction.

I love Nirvana the Band the Show.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time I took a ~20 hours bus ride (10 each way) to go see the V and A exhibit on David Bowie. Amazing... to me.

Teach, Learn, Share

Some rudimentary German, baking tips, and marginal knowledge on a pub trivia team.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can bake fairly well, plus I'd love to bring along some local coffee beans if you give me enough of a heads up!

Countries I’ve Visited
