Hi everybody !
My name is Marie, I come from Lyon in France and I’m an exchange student currently studying at Portland State University (Oregon). I landed in America on the 8th of September and will go back to my home country in July. In the meantime, I’m simply enjoying gorgeous America and all the nice people, food, music and landscapes this huge country has to offer.
I study anthropology as a Junior and focus my work on the Native American studies. In the future, I would like to work either in a Museum specialized in Man and Nature or for a social governmental organization taking care of ethnic minorities and Native Americans. In my opinion, the ideal job is a job in which I can teach and help.
I live in a student dormitory so unfortunately I can’t host people at my place in Portland but back in France, I have an apartment of my own and I will be more than happy to host people and make you discover the beautiful city of Lyon !

Couchsurfing is the best way to live a unique experience in a foreign country and even in you home country! I simply want to meet new people, share with them my experiences and my culture. I’m on Couchsurfing to make new friends, hoping somebody will be happy to help me discovering a new city and its surroundings, as well as sharing his/her lifestyle with me!
Couchsurfing is a way to exchange and learn form each other, as I believe that everybody has something to offer, to share and to teach. It is much more enriching than staying at the hotel or in an AirB&B…

兴趣

I’m a huge fan of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, yoga, skiing or riding bike in the mountains! I love sport (almost any kind of sport) and I practice it every day, but I also enjoy staying at home watching a good movie or reading a good book. I’m definitely into Pop Culture and it is one of my passions, especially cinema, rock’n’roll music and modern literature. I play electric guitar during my free time, and I draw since the age of 10 or 11 (this might be due to my parents who are both artists 😊).

Obviously, I love traveling and more than just traveling using trains and hotels, I want to live unforgettable adventures, which in my opinion, includes meeting new people and share with them something that you wouldn’t have imagined living in your everyday life with people you already know. I think adventure and travel must be unexpected, exciting, surprising and sometimes uncomfortable and inconvenient but in the end, this is what makes your journey unique and real.
