ABOUT ME

I am a fun, light-hearted lady interested in the living of life. I play several instruments, love to read, and drink craft beer. I try to keep a positive mind set. There aren't too many things I'm not interested in. I'm studying evolutionary biology and hope to study large mammals. I am on a local environmental board that helps create new parks and hiking areas in the Peoria area. I work at a local brewery and love beer talk!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and the best way to immerse in a city's culture is to spend time with its inhabitants! I love hearing stories and different perspectives. I'll be going on a cross-country road trip soon and want to meet as many people as I can on my journey!

Interests

I love to be outside! Hiking, paddleboarding, biking, climbing, swimming; I'll do it all! I have a small German shepherd and I try to spend as much time adventuring with him as possible. He is very dog and people friendly and is well trained. I read, watch good movies and shows, cook, cartwheel, sing in the shower, and climb trees. I work at a microbrewery in Peoria and sling the best beer in the Midwest!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all of the above. Some of my favorite musicians include Air, Kraftwerk, Stan Getz, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, and many, many more.
A few favorite movies would be Lost in Translation, LOTR, Drop Dead Gorgeous, any Muppet movie, Wes Anderson films, many documentaries.
Books; I enjoy fantasy, so GoT, Terry Brooks, Douglas Adams, etc.. I am a big Sylvia Plath fan, Dorothy Parker, Edna St.Vincent Millay, e.e. cummings, etc.. I enjoy books that make you think.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would have to say seeing the stars blanket the sky; you can't get that in Illinois,
But the times I have experienced such a sight have always returned a deep sense of humility and gratitude in me that I wish happened every moment of every day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach the basics of several instruments, some very basic French, some basic homebrewing, fermenting.
