About Me
Hi! I find hard to describe myself so I will try to tell you just a few things about me. Lets see how it looks like!
I´m Maru! I´m from Misiones (east of Argentina) but currently living in Rosario for more than 4 years now.
I was born in San Juan (west of Argentina and near the Andes) and since then my family and I moved and lived in differents cities of my country, Barreal, Posadas, Oberá, Apóstoles, Jardín América, Concepción del Uruguay, Balcarce, Colonia Caroya and Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. Every three years we moved to another city and in each of them I met and made new friends. That was unique! Now, I still love travelling and meeting new people. It´s a great experience and I will never get bored of it.
Three years ago I got my degree in genetics and I decided to start my PhD in Rosario. I love biology, specially about plants. Since I´m almost all the time focused in my work sometimes I need a break and talk about something else, I´m really interested in history and psychology for example, but I keep my mind opened to any other topic.
I have a deep love for animals, you will notice how much I love my dogs! I cannot stop talking about them. Unfortunatly I am too weak to become a vegetarian but I try to eat less meat. And I am always opened to new ideas or suggestions.
I am also aware of environmental issues, trying to change my habits and to reduce my ecological footprint.
I would say I´m a friendly and easy going person! With no problems at all. Very patient by the way. I love spending my time with family and friends, and getting in touch with people all over the world!
I like going out with friends, sharing mate (typical drink prepared with yerba mate) and a nice talk. I love beers and I always find a good reason to have one hahaha. It´s also ok with me having a relaxed night, staying at home and watch a movie.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A friend of mine recomended CS two years ago. I was starting a trip througt three countries in Europe and travelling alone. During that trip I had my first experience in CS. It was just amazing. Something completly new for me. Since then I use CS everytime I can. And now I also decided to share my home with travellers like me.

I love watching movies and I´m a fan of TV series!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Four days of trekking with my boyfriend in El chalten, Argentina!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share a mate and other typical foods of my country. But please don´t ask me for a barbecue cause I have no idea how to make one and not even a grill at home.
Music and interesting events in Rosario, when it´s possible. I am an argentinian folclore teacher, I can teach you some moves and maybe go to a peña.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a traveller I love having a relaxed talk with my host. I prefer small groups so I can really get in touch with my host. I can share interesting thing about my country and my life. A few tips if you want to help the enviroment by just modifiyng some habits at home. I´m always drinking "mate" so of course and can also share that.
