About Me
Who are you?
I – I hardly know, sir, just at present – at least I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have changed several times since then. (Alice in Wonderland)
I was born a seeker, a roamer. I want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of mental and physical experiences possible in my life. I will never be able to be all the people I want to be, I will never be able to live all the lives I want to live, I will never be able to live in all the places I want to live, but I can visit them!
I graduated in nursing few years back, but have never really worked as a nurse. I have been working as an English teacher for sometime now. I Speak 3 languages fluently (Portuguese - mother tongue - English, and Spanish - my father was from Argentina) and can get by with another 2 (Italian and French).
I have lived 6 wonderful years in London and, although it was my choice to leave, I feel like I came back home alone and my soul remains there. But it was a choice I had to make, otherwise I wouldn`t be able to live in peace with myself; I have always lived with my grandmother (my parents just living a few blocks away) and when she got sick I made the decision to return and look after her, So, I currently live in Brazil - very, very south in Brazil - but you never know... you might encounter me underneath wandering stars!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I`m on couchsurfing because I made the decision of visiting, at least, one country per year, and heard of this amazing site. This is just perfect, as you can be as a local whilst being a tourist. You get to know the best places to have a meal, the best places to local music - these are the 2 things I always try whenever I visit a new place (local food and local music).
I know I live in a far far away land, but I know people, I can connect you with the people I know, afterall life is about networking.
Interests
Well, I love writing - you can check my blog at http://maryneverenough.blog.com/ -
I love reading (but alas, I don`t read as much as I`d like to). I love Dorothy Parker and I cannot tell you all the books I`ve read as I don`t remember them all.
I love James Patterson, Agatha Christie, lots of chick lit as well. However, I feel like I must say I don`t like Nicholas Sparks, in fact, I hate Nicholas Sparks.
I love cooking/baking.
I love my job.
I love listening to music.
I love talking to people, actually, I love talking, period.
I love going out dancing.
I love going out for a pint, or 2, or many.
I love so many things! I just don`t really like the guitar.

Music, Movies, and Books
I was raised in the 90s, therefore I love grunge rock! I absolutely love the Foo Fighters! I love music in general. I never say no to something I have never listened to before. But there are certain types of music which I don`t enjoy (I don`t like pagode, for instance). And now, I know haters are going to hate, but I don`t like Coldplay - sorry :)
I love reading Dorothy Parker, I lover her so much that I felt the need to give my books away to someone who had never heard of her, and he was American! And he was studying English/American Literature in college!
I`m not much of a film lover, I like it but wouldn`t say I`m passionate about it. I just don`t like science fiction nor drama.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I actually think I`ve done some pretty amazing things in life, not being afraid of other people`s judgement being one of them.
I am going to tell about the last achievement, which I think is one amazing thing.
I have always been one of those people who never exercise, and then, I was 35 years old, overweight and not happy. So, I decided to take up some exercising, the thing is I hate the gym! Tried zumba, but because of my working hours it didn`t work out. Well, that and did I mention the fact that I hate the gym?
Then I tried jogging, boy is it my thing! I absolutely LOVED it. It is my time, just me and me alone. It is like I am the world, and there is no other thought other than "you just have to make through the next corner" until my 4 km are done!
And back in October I was running only 2 km. So, 3 months later and 10 kg lighter now my aim is to run those 4km in less time.
