ABOUT ME

I study volcanoes, draw, teach, and oh so many other things. I also love to travel... always have. I want to see all 7 continents by the time I'm 30, and so far it looks good (only 1 more to go).

PHILOSOPHY

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, beer in one hand, a cigarette in the other, totally worn out and screaming 'WOOO HOOOOO what a ride!'

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to be on your couch, but I'd love to have you on mine whenever I'm home. Well, its an inflatible matress really... I have the most uncomfortable couch in the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had people crashing on my couch since I was 16. I used to drive my mother crazy with all the strays I brought home. Now I guess its my turn :)

I hosted several people when I was a student and also surfed a little in Africa, though it was much harder there (we were in really remote locations for the most part).

I've met some truely amazing people through CS, and still visit with them whenever we are in roughly the same part of the world.

I lit a cigarette off of a lava flow. I've since quite smoking, but that was certainly on of my top 10.

I've also backpacked all the way across Africa with only two pairs of pants. It was cool though... I brought a sewing kit along.
