About Me
I'm Marie
I come from a beautiful island in the far east of Denmark called Bornholm. I am a big fan of everything nature related. Long walks in the forest, mushroom hunting, kayaking, swimming in the ocean all year round are some of my favorites.
I'm open-minded, friendly, curious and down to earth.
Right now I'm enjoying the busy city life in Copenhagen. I love going to concerts, art exhibitions, a lil party once in a while and just explore what this place has to offer.
In the future I dream of a simple life with a lot of freedom. A life where I don't need to earn lots of money.
Having a little sustainable house in the countryside with a big kitchen garden. A dog and some chickens.
I would love to host people in the future in my little santuary.
Both volunteers and couch surfers. I think this concept is truly amazing.
I am very passionate about sustainability.
Hitchhiking, dumpster diving, volunteer work
Gardening
Plant based living
Yoga
Animals, especially DOGS
Photography
Creativity - ceramics, painting
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting new people and learning about new cultures.
Sharing stories and getting to know a new place with the eyes of a local.
I have been doing a lot of volunteer work around Europe. Some of my best experiences has been:
Doing workaway in a therapeutic riding stable in a mountain in Austria.
Volunteering at a refugee center in Bornholm, working with kids and speaking danish with young women.
Interests
Very interested in eco/ green tourism.
I voulunteer with Greenkayak in the summer in Copenhagen. And would love to take people out on the water and collect some trash. It's free, so don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested.
I just started volunteering at a organisation called "GRO SELV". They have so many great initiatives and workshops on how to make sustainability more practical and hands on. F.x how to produce less waste at music festivals and make the focus more sustainable.
I'm also a volunteer at a organic rooftop garden. It's the loveliest space with a lot of international people.
I lived in Berlin for a while and always looking for new friends in this marvelous city. I love everything about the place and hope to live there again one day. Right now I'm practicing my German
